| Justyna has been
artistically inclined all her life. From early drawings in sand and
on the walls of her room she progressed to painting on sidewalks and
canvas. Experimented with different media -- charcoal, pastel, watercolor,
monotype, oil. Born and
raised in Poland, Justyna studied Systems of Information Science and
Technology at the Wroclaw Polytechnic. After her arrival in San
Francisco she followed her artistic calling with courses in painting and
drawing at City College of San Francisco. She managed to bridge the
creative and analytical sides in her profession as lighting consultant.
Justyna participated in a 1993
Groundswell Design Group project called Shell-ter Site, directing public
attention to the homeless problem in San Francisco. Responsible for
rendering of housing design by Carl Owens. Annually Justyna takes
part in the
Italian Street Painting Festival in San Rafael, CA, which benefits
Youth in Arts programs. During this unique and captivating
performance art event she creates a work of art which can be viewed by the
public for two days only. Her more tangible artworks, on the other
hand, are part of many private collections. |
